Goðorð — ÍVAR / ᛁᚢᚾᚱ

Artist's note

Goðorð is about searching for the real Icelandic past beneath the modern Viking mythology. It moves through Iceland’s landscape, medieval sources and Þingvellir to explore the society of the Icelandic Commonwealth — its law, assemblies, relationships and collective memory. At the same time, it is personal: it reflects my own attempt to recover those voices from the sources and carry their stories into the present.
